Some appropiate links for Lá Bealtaine, traditionally the first day of summer by the indigenous calendars of the Irish, Scots and Manx (and probably for the Celtic peoples as a whole). The Dos Bhealtaine or May Bush is up already, the branches and flowers cut from the caorthann or rowan tree in my garden. The ribbons are red and white, the colours of my family’s heraldic crest and the mythical Aos Sí. And perhaps of revolutionary Gaels too? 😉

right you are, though in fairness much of the archae-historiography we have inherited dates from 1700s with attendant legacy issues. – Edel Bhreathnach has another smashing (weighty) book out 😉
