Another reminder about the demonstration for Irish language rights due to be held in Dublin at 2pm on the 15th of February 2014, with a march from Parnell Square to Leinster House. Again, the more people that show their support for the civil and constitutional rights of Irish-speaking citizens and communities in Ireland the greater the political and media impact both at home and abroad. Please attend if you can or spread the word if you can’t. This is especially true of Irish communities overseas who may wish to plan demonstrations outside Irish diplomatic offices in their resident countries. A few hundred protesters outside the offices of Ireland’s consulate general in Park Avenue, New York City, would have more impact on the PR-sensitive political establishment on this island nation than several thousand protesters on the streets of our national capital. Meanwhile can I suggest that people may wish to turn their blogs or social media profile pictures “red” for Saturday to signify their support for the marchers. It would be greatly appreciated.
