If you’re familiar with Irish TV broadcasts from the 1980s and early ’90s you’ll certainly remember the less-than-professional advertising that used to populate the commercial breaks of RTÉ and TG4 (or UTV). It wasn’t quite at the same level as local public access channels in the United States but at times it didn’t seem that far off, either. These days such things are confined to the more country-‘n’-Irish stations that lurk in the higher numbered channels of your cable or satellite television-provider. However, and in an admittedly shameless bit of nepotism, here is comedian George Fox and the folks at Aunties Comedy with their own homage to those glory days of do-it-yourself advertising. Roll up for Bedspring Bob’s Bunks! (All similarities to people living or dead is purely coincidental. Probably).
