Quantum Leap, An Alternative Or Lost Ending?

My youngest sister and I have a great deal of affection for the science-fiction series Quantum Leap, having watching reruns of the American show on the SyFy channel following its original five season airing with NBC in the late 1980s and early ’90s. The programme followed the time-travelling misadventures of a physicist from the future, Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula), as he journeyed around the past, temporarily replacing other people to correct various historical mistakes in order to move on again. In this process he was aided by the hologram projection – visible only to him – of his companion and adviser, Admiral Al Calavicci (Dean Stockwell), a roguish, cigar-smoking contemporary living in the future.

The show ended prematurely on quite a bleak note, with the end title card confirming that the lead character remained lost in time. However, Allison Pregler of the YouTube channel, Movie Nights, has released a video showing what she says are photographic negatives from 1993, illustrating an alternate ending to the final season of Quantum Leap. Worth a watch if you’re a fan of the series.
