I know that quite a few of my readers are “fangirls” with an interest in all aspects of geek culture (literature, art, movies, games and so on) so it would be interesting to hear their experiences of what was traditionally perceived as a mainly male preserve, especially here in Ireland. World By Storm has a good post on this over at CLR if you feel like contributing some thoughts.

Meanwhile Paul Larkin has a review of a new steampunk novel, “The Kingdom of Clockwork” by the Irish-born author Billy O’Shea. It is set in Scandinavia not Ireland (we could do with some steampunk of our own) but judging by the online buzz it seems well worth a purchase. I am a sucker for steampunk and urban fantasies.
