The promised revival of the character of Jean-Luc Picard from the science-fiction show, Star Trek: The Next Generation, has caused no end of speculation among fans of the multimedia franchise. However a minority have taken a far more pessimistic, or realistic, view of the bare bones announcement in August by the British actor, Patrick Stewart, where he claimed that a reboot or spin-off from the original 1987-94 series was in the works. The guys at Red Letter Media have produced an enjoyable if entirely speculative video predicting what the new programme could – or should – be about. Given the team’s other prognostications, this could be fun.
