Just a quick post to note the premature passing of Michael Brooks, the political podcaster and online commentator, and one of the very, very few people in the American YouTube milieu to show any real interest in events outside of the United States. He was certainly the only left-wing YouTuber in the US of any standing to display some knowledge of Irish politics and the adverse effects of Brexit on the peace process, and made a concerted effort to move beyond the introverted navel gazing and Trump-watching that has mesmerised the online American left for the last four years. A truly sad day.

Very sad news. After reading this earlier in the week I went out and bought his last book.

It is sad and shocking. He seemed perfectly healthy just days before. His family said it has nothing to do with you-know-what.
